DerNexus Solutions ("DerNexus", "we", "us") is a Calgary, Alberta consulting practice. This policy explains what personal information we collect through dernexus.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When you use the contact form on this site, you provide your name, email address, and the message you write. You only share this if you choose to contact us.

Information collected automatically

Our contact form is handled by a third-party service, Formspree. When you submit the form, Formspree records the technical details that come with any web request, including your IP address, browser and device information (user-agent), and the date and time of submission. This helps deliver your message and reduce spam.

We also use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects usage data in a pseudonymous form. It does not tell us who you are by name.

Why we collect it

Where your information is processed

Formspree and Google are based in the United States. When you submit the form or browse the site, the information described above may be stored and processed on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to those service providers and to authorities under the laws that apply there. We use these providers because they are widely trusted, and we want you to know where your data goes.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form submissions only as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you and to maintain our business records, after which they are deleted. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of transmitting information over the internet is ever completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
